RECIPE: Immune Boosting Turmeric Ginger Latte

It’s time to give your immune system the boost it needs right now. With Covid-19 circulating the globe, here is a simple recipe that not only helps fight a cold or flu, but also calms your nervous system. Pair this delicious all natural recipe with your high vibes and positive mindset to soothe your soul and stay strong and healthy.

Introducing the turmeric ginger latte

This elixir offers some incredible health benefits and is popular in Ayurvedic medicine as a home remedy to fight colds due to its anti-bacterial, antiviral and anti fungal properties. Turmeric and ginger, of the same root family, are super healing anti-inflammatory foods, which help reduce pain in the joints. Turmeric alone is known to be a potent antioxidant and is very effective in neutralizing cellular damage, which is important in a world full of pollutants. Preventing cellular damage helps lower the risk of cancer and a variety of infections and diseases *ahem* covid-19.

Furthermore, studies have shown that turmeric can be used to effectively treat some depressive disorders. Plus, it’s packed with manganese, a mineral that helps heal wounds, lower blood sugar levels and fight insulin resistance. Sounds pretty magical!

THE RECIPE
Serves 1

1 cup macadamia nut milk (or nut milk of choice!

3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger or ginger powder

1-2 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup

Sprinkle cinnamon

Small pinch sea salt

Small pinch of ground black pepper*

* don’t forget black pepper, this is what activates the active ingredient in turmeric called curcumin (the powerful antioxidant)

Directions

Warm up the nut milk in small saucepan on medium heat. Do not boil, as it will form a skin.
Add turmeric, ginger and cinnamon to the saucepan. Combine the raw honey/syrup, salt and black pepper with the mixture. Blend with immersion blender or high speed blender to make it frothy!

ENJOY!
